About the instructors:

Mr. Brett Williams, 4th Degree Black Belt, has been training in Taekwondo for over 20 years.  He began teaching in 1995 in New Jersey before relocating to the Rochester area in 2001 where he has been teaching at the Rochester Taekwondo Club.  He has been a local, state and national competitor in forms and sparring with dozens of event tournament wins and championships.

Mr. Bon Vu is a 3rd Degree Black Belt whose Taekwondo training began in 1968 in Vietnam.  After moving to the US, he started teaching taekwondo in 1980.  He relocated to the Rocheter area and began teaching with the Rochester Taekwondo Club in 2002.

Taekwondo, a Korean martial art, literally translated means “the way of kicking and
punching”. The world's most popular martial art, Taekwondo is known for it's exciting 
kicking techniques which employ the leg's greater reach and power (compared 
to the arm). Students will train with an emphasis on discipline, respect, and self 
control. Taekwondo promotes self esteem and confidence while improving strength, 
coordination, concentration and flexibility, making it a great cross-training exercise for 
sports and other athletics.

Our program is set in a structured environment where students develop and progress at their own pace. All students, regardless of ability will participate at all times – in Taekwondo, no one sits the bench.  And it is one of the few athletic activities where parents and children can participate together.  Whether for the physical fitness, attaining skills in self defense, or for just for the fun of it, Taekwondo is challenging and rewarding for the old and young alike.  Classes are taught by Mr. Brett Williams and Mr. Bon Vu of the Rochester Taekwondo Club and will be open to ages 8 and up.
